Oreganik

Oreganik is a digital game studio in Eugene, Oregon. Founded by industry veteran Ted Brown (Tony Hawk’s Project 8, Tomb Raider: Underworld), it handles contract work as well as full IP development.

In 2014, Oreganik was responsible for a top-to-bottom rewrite and release of Epic Skater, a mobile game that has reached 3.3 million players. It was also responsible for the design and development of the first of a series of educational games with the University of Oregon’s Center on Teaching and Learning. Oreganik’s original IP, Chess Heroes, was voted onto Steam — the world’s largest digital distribution platform — by its fans in late 2014, and will be seeing release in 2015.

Ted Brown, studio owner and head developer, is also a community leader in the field, organizing a number of game development events, including Epic Oregon Game Jam and Indie Game Con. Oreganik runs these and other events to cultivate the game development workforce in Eugene and greater Oregon. Building a bigger, better ecosystem for indie development will pay rewards in the years to come, and Oreganik will soon be in a position to take full advantage of it.
